Diver is a product which I have great pleasure in recommending, I have nothing but praise for the DBI team. In our deployment we take data feeds from Navision every day (3 to 4 times a day for KPIs) so we have up to the minute data on our sales. From a data integration point of view it is simple enough for non-technical marketing, purchasing and sales people to data mine after some initial training – it does not require understanding of SQL language to get good information out of the system.
I installed and developed Diver at Rajapack with the help of DBI, but I quickly became proficient enough to carry out training myself so as to bring other users up to speed and allow them to start developing their own more complex reports. It needs a commitment from the business to put the effort in, in the first place, but now everyone can see what a powerful tool it is and how much time it can save in producing reports or ad hoc analysis. Everyone is using Diver to improve our business analysis and drive the business every day.
Diver puts the analysis and reporting in the hands of the end user and as such is not limited to the suite of reports or development requirements of an operating system; it means that the business is not reliant on the IT department to develop analysis and reporting that may take many weeks to implement.
After seeing how beneficial it is for our UK operation, Italy & Germany have also adopted it. It was easy to share reporting that we had already developed in the UK and this speeded up the implementation and took advantage of the investment we had already made in Diver.
