An inspiring account of the “Women of the Vine Global Symposium” from DI’s Nancy Berkowitz.
“Companies with sustained high representation of women on their boards of directors, defined as those with three or more women in at least four of five years, significantly outperformed those with sustained low representation by 84 percent on return on sales, by 60 percent on return on invested capital, and by 46 percent on return on equity. (Catalyst.org – The Bottom Line: Corporate Performance and Women’s Representation on Boards.) ……The savviest of the women at the Symposium are using data to not only understand where they are winning, but also to better understand where they are failing. They aren’t afraid of failure, but are using data to understand which programs to stop, which approaches to avoid, and what tactics need to change to avoid failing again. They are risk takers and innovators – using data to get smarter, play harder, and win.”
